Manager, Client Services

This position is designed to provide InStorecard clients a single point of contact, from integration, to deployment, to ongoing success. You will be the voice of the client in the company, ensuring all of their needs are addressed, & communicating changes.

Details:

  • Responsible for coordination and management of assigned client (s).
  • Will act as primary contact/liaison with Client to ensure that operations are running as expected by Client.
  • Responsible to ensure company is meeting expected Key Performance Indicators as contracted by client.
  • Should be able to handle many clients as one time & meet many changing client deadlines with ease.
  • Provide day to day account management for clients, as well as initial training.
  • Project manage integrations with retailer marketing, creative and IT resources, as well as internal integration resources.
  • Track retailer progress, supervise new modifications, proactively identify issues, and act as primary contact for all client issues.
  • Analyze & recommend incremental applications for InStorecard service components.
  • Provide weekly detailed progress reports for company on clients.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of account management experience, at least 2 years working with direct marketers and retailers, at least 2 years of classic Silicon Valley project management experience, and previous experience in a startup and services environment, in both marketing and technical aspects. Should be comfortable with web-based applications, as well as translating technical concepts to laypeople and as importantly must love retail, ecommerce and in-store shopping.

Revisiting Star Trek: The Next Generation: Season 1

I recently started rewatching Star Trek: The Next Generation from the beginning. I have nothing but fond memories of the original run in the 1980s, given how excited I was for a new Trek series in my lifetime (I had only reruns and the movies to stoke my Trek interest), and it recently occurred to me that, while I diligently consumed every TNG episode, I had not experienced the series since it's original run.  Why did I do this? This morning's news started with the latest grim proof of overdevelopment in a tough sector: SkyBus Airlines shut down , less than year from when it started. Never heard of Skybus? Not surprising; they chose to focus on trips from Ohio to the West Coast for ridiculously low fares. Yes, you read that right: the airlines' unique niche was that they focused on trips from Ohio . Was air travel such an amazingly profitable business that we needed that much segmentation and focus? Of course not. A year ago, when Skybus was just getting off the ground (har har), fuel costs were at an all time high. United was still in bankruptcy; Delta, a fellow airline with a major hub in Ohio, was just exiting Chapter 11.
